Description

Main Topic

Capgemini World Payments Report 2027 (Capgemini Research Institute for Financial Services, published 2026): 'Now money really never sleeps - The rise of accelerated intelligent money in B2B payments', a 68-page consulting research report on how stablecoins, tokenized deposits and CBDCs are reshaping B2B payments and what role banks should play.

Key Benefits

  • •Real findings from a 1,110-company corporate survey and a 300-executive banking survey (plus 50+ interviews) across nine markets, conducted May-June 2026
  • •Hard numbers on the payments shift: global non-cash transactions forecast at ~4,002.5 billion by 2030 (~2x vs 2025E), and ~4% of global payments volume via stablecoins, tokenized deposits and CBDCs by 2030
  • •A clear leaders-vs-mainstream segmentation: only 21% of banks are actively scaling at least one intelligent money instrument
  • •Strong consulting-deck design reference: action-title headlines, numbered figures with sources, big-number callouts, harvey-ball comparison matrices, 2x2 priority grids and a capability 'house' framework
  • •Includes four client case studies, an executive summary, methodology and endnotes, showing a complete research-report structure

Target Audience

  • •Bank payments, transaction banking and treasury executives
  • •Fintech, payment processor and digital asset strategy teams
  • •Management consultants and analysts building financial services research decks
  • •Corporate treasurers evaluating stablecoins, tokenized deposits and real-time cash visibility
  • •Presentation designers looking for a polished research-report layout reference

Use Cases

  • •Citing market data on B2B payments, stablecoin adoption and CBDC/tokenized deposit strategy
  • •Benchmarking a bank's intelligent money strategy against the reactive / offensive / transformative postures
  • •Studying how a consulting firm structures a long research report into exec summary, three chapters, case studies and appendix
  • •Borrowing slide patterns (big-stat callouts, comparison matrices, priority grids) for strategy or board presentations
  • •Preparing briefings or workshops on digital money and the future of cross-border payments

Unique Value Propositions

  • •Published by the Capgemini Research Institute, the in-house think tank behind the annual Financial Services World Reports series
  • •Introduces the 'accelerated intelligent money' concept and an 'intelligent money stack' of move-value, program-value and connect-value capabilities
  • •Quantifies the revenue at risk: about USD 230 billion (~10% of payments revenue) in FX spreads, correspondent fees, float and processing fees
  • •Landscape 16:9 report design with a consistent blue-fabric visual motif, making it a useful model for visually cohesive consulting decks

It also includes an executive summary, four Capgemini case studies, the methodology and endnotes, across 68 landscape pages.

What are the key findings and numbers?

Only 21% of banks are actively scaling at least one intelligent money instrument. 60% of banks prioritized B2B innovation, yet only 32% of corporates are satisfied with their primary bank, and about 60% would source stablecoin services from non-banks. About USD 230 billion (~10% of payments revenue) is exposed to disruption, USD 4 trillion sits in nostro/vostro accounts, and new instruments could carry ~4% of global payments volume by 2030.

Who publishes the World Payments Report and how often?

It is published by the Capgemini Research Institute for Financial Services, Capgemini's in-house think tank, as part of its annual Financial Services World Reports series. The 2027 edition was released in 2026. It is based on a 1,110-company corporate survey and a 300-executive banking survey run in May-June 2026 across nine markets.

Why is this report a good example of consulting slide design?

Almost every content page has an action title that states the takeaway. Numbered figures carry clear sources and sample sizes (n=300, n=1,110), and single statistics such as 21%, 3.5 days or USD 230 billion are shown as big-number callouts. It also uses dot-rated comparison matrices, a 2x2-style priority grid and a 'house' capability framework. Chapter dividers and the recurring blue-fabric photography keep the long document visually consistent.

What are the three strategic postures for banks?

Reactive banks distribute third-party capabilities and act as gateways. Offensive banks invest selectively in corridors and use cases and act as orchestrators. Transformative banks build shared infrastructure and standards and become ecosystem owners. None of the leaders plan to be reactive, compared with 40% of mainstream banks.

How can I make a similar research-style deck?

Use action titles, one key message per page, big-stat callouts and sourced charts. 2Slides can turn a document, report or outline into a presentation, so you can upload your research notes or a PDF and generate slides in a consulting-report style, then refine the titles and charts.

Where can I read the original report?

The original PDF is available from Capgemini at https://www.capgemini.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WPR_2027.pdf. The report's back cover also points to the World Payments Report page in Capgemini's research library.
