2Slides vs Tome AI: Which AI Presentation Tool Should You Choose?

Tome was one of the first AI presentation tools — beautiful, narrative-driven, and widely adopted. But in 2025-2026, Tome pivoted away from pure presentations toward general AI content creation. If you need a dedicated presentation tool, here's how 2Slides compares.

Tome's Pivot: What Changed

Tome originally focused exclusively on AI-generated presentations. Since 2025, it has broadened into:

• General content pages and documents
• AI research and knowledge tools
• Collaborative content workspace

This means presentation-specific features have received less attention, while the product became more general-purpose.

Feature Comparison

Why Choose 2Slides Over Tome

1. Presentation-focused: Every feature is built for slide generation
2. PowerPoint-native: Output is a real .pptx file, not a web page
3. File conversion: Turn any document into slides
4. Design matching: Clone any visual style with a reference image
5. Voice + video: Full narration and video production pipeline
6. Developer API: Automate slide generation programmatically

Why You Might Still Choose Tome

1. Content variety: Need more than just presentations
2. Narrative format: Tome's web-page style presentations are unique
3. Free tier: Tome offers a generous free plan
4. Collaboration: Real-time editing with team members

The Bottom Line

If presentations are your primary need, 2Slides is the more feature-complete, focused option. Tome is better if you want a general AI content workspace where presentations are just one of many outputs.
