수록 모음: 투자자 발표자료 사례 · 일본 기업 IR 자료 예시

Oji Holdings (TSE: 3861), Japan's largest paper and pulp group, presents its H1 FY2026 results (April-September 2026) and a revised full-year outlook. This is a Japanese-language deck (2026年度第2四半期決算説明会資料) published on TDnet, the Tokyo Stock Exchange's timely disclosure system, on November 6, 2026; all analysis on this page is in English with yen figures kept in the company's own units (億円 = ¥100 million). FY2026 runs from April 2026 to March 2027. Net sales rose to ¥958.0 billion (9,580億円, +430), operating profit slipped to 155億円 (-12) and interim net profit rose to 117億円 (+8). The full-year operating profit forecast was cut from 600億円 to 450億円 because of the prolonged Middle East situation and a slow pulp-market recovery, while net profit guidance of 350億円 and the ¥36 per-share dividend were kept.

Executive message

CEO Message

콘텐츠

President and CEO Hiroyuki Isono summarises the half: H1 FY2026 operating profit was 155億円, down 12億円 year on year, while net profit was 117億円, up 8億円. Because the Middle East situation has lasted longer than assumed and the pulp market recovery has been slower, the full-year operating profit forecast was revised down to 450億円. Gains on sales of shareholdings offset part of the decline, so the net profit forecast of 350億円 and the 36円 per share dividend forecast are unchanged. The CEO says high-value-added products, steady price pass-through, stable operations and cost cuts are aimed at reaching the medium-term plan's FY2027 targets, and points to progress on asset slimming (p.30), restructuring of low-profit businesses (p.31), wood-biomass M&A and R&D (pp.32-34) and sustainable products (p.35).

Executive summary

Executive Summary

콘텐츠

Three blocks. 01 H1 FY2026 results: consolidated operating profit 155億円 (down 12億円 year on year) and interim net profit 117億円 (up 8億円). Price revisions and production restructuring helped, but soaring raw-material prices from the Middle East situation and higher logistics and labour costs weighed on operating profit; FX gains from revaluing foreign-currency receivables and payables lifted net profit. 02 FY2026 forecast: operating profit 450億円 (150億円 below the original forecast), net profit 350億円 (unchanged), ROE 3.2% (down 0.1pt). 03 Medium-term plan 2027 follow-up: dividend of 36円 per share maintained; the cumulative buyback target of 1,000億円 for FY2026 was reached in May, and the 1,500億円 cumulative target through FY2027 is maintained.

FY2026 and FY2027 Outlook

콘텐츠

FY2026 operating profit is planned to rise from 155億円 in H1 (actual) to 295億円 in H2 (+140), for 450億円 for the year. Main H2 drivers: domestic: timing of shutdowns +50 (more shutdown days in H1), Middle East cost increase -70, other raw-material prices -50 (purchased pulp and recovered paper), price increases +125 (including Middle East-related increases); overseas: shutdown timing +50, pulp prices +15 (autumn demand), volume +40 (more operating days and expansion). FY2027 medium-term plan targets are maintained: ROE 8%, operating profit 1,200億円, net profit 800億円. Despite a tough environment including the prolonged Middle East situation, the company will pursue price pass-through, stable operations and cost cuts to hit the plan's profit targets.

Maximising the value of forest resources by moving into next-generation materials, chemicals and energy from wood's three components. Cellulose: high-purity cellulose for apparel fibres (Yonago, AustroCel), cellulose nanofiber as a light high-strength material (Innovation Promotion Division), microcrystalline cellulose for pharmaceutical excipients and cosmetics (Chemfield, Nordic Bioproducts Group investment). Cellulose and hemicellulose: sugar solution and bioethanol as low-carbon fuels and bio-feedstock (Yonago demonstration since 2025, AustroCel in commercial operation) and biomass resist for advanced semiconductor manufacturing (commercialisation from 2028). Hemicellulose: sulfated hemicellulose for veterinary and human medicines (Oji Pharma). Lignin: lignin-derived high-function products (in development) and hydrogel for agricultural soil water retention (AustroCel). All three: biomethanol (demonstration from FY2027), biochar for agriculture and industry (demonstration from FY2026), biocarbon as a fossil-fuel substitute for steel (production from FY2029 with Brazil's Bionow).

Packaging regulation is treated as a business opportunity: the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) applies generally from August 2026 and India has enforced plastic-waste rules, so demand for compliant paper and board is expected to grow. A bar chart shows sustainable-product sales (億円) rising from roughly 700 in FY2024 to roughly 1,100 in FY2025, around 1,200 planned for FY2026-27, about 1,750 in the 2030 plan and about 2,400 in the 2035 plan (bar labels not printed; values read from the axis), with pie charts of the 2026 and 2030 mix (liquid cartons and cup stock, food and industrial plastic-free packaging, phenol-free thermal paper, building materials, PLA and mono-material plastics). 자주 묻는 질문

이 슬라이드 및 기본 프레젠테이션 콘텐츠에 대한 일반적인 질문.

What language is this Oji Holdings deck in, and where was it published?

The original is a Japanese-language earnings presentation (決算説明会資料) that Oji Holdings (TSE code 3861) filed on TDnet, the Tokyo Stock Exchange's timely disclosure system, on November 6, 2026. The summaries on this page are in English, and yen figures keep the company's own units, mostly 億円 (¥100 million).

How did Oji Holdings perform in H1 FY2026?

For April-September 2026, net sales rose 430億円 to 9,580億円, operating profit fell 12億円 to 155億円 and interim net profit rose 8億円 to 117億円. Domestic companies earned 199億円 (+18), while overseas companies lost 44億円 (-30), hit by higher raw-material costs tied to the Middle East situation and FX.

Why did Oji cut its FY2026 operating profit forecast?

Operating profit guidance was lowered from 600億円 to 450億円 because the Middle East situation has lasted longer than expected, pushing up raw-material and fuel costs, and because the pulp market has recovered more slowly. The domestic forecast fell by 40億円 and the overseas forecast by 110億円.

Did the dividend or net profit forecast change?

No. Net profit guidance stays at 350億円 because gains on sales of shareholdings offset the operating shortfall, and the FY2026 dividend forecast stays at 36円 per share. The policy is a 50% payout ratio with a floor of 24円 per share.

What does FY2026 mean for Oji Holdings?

Oji's fiscal year runs from April to March, so FY2026 is April 2026 to March 2027 and H1 FY2026 (the second quarter cumulative, 2Q累計) covers April to September 2026.

What are Oji's medium-term plan targets for FY2027?

Medium-Term Management Plan 2027 targets are maintained: operating profit of 1,200億円, net profit of 800億円 and ROE of 8%. Cumulative buybacks reached 1,000億円 in May 2026, and the target is 1,500億円 for FY2024-FY2027.

Which segments drive Oji's earnings, and how did they do?

Household & Industrial Materials (containerboard, corrugated, tissue) raised H1 operating profit by 108億円 to 160億円, and Functional Materials rose 29億円 to 83億円. Forest Resources & Environment Marketing (pulp, energy) fell 46億円 to 7億円, and Printing & Communications Media swung to a 16億円 loss.

Can this deck be used as a template for an earnings presentation?

Yes. It is a clear example of a results deck with an executive summary, price/volume/cost waterfall bridges split by region and segment, sensitivity matrices, guidance-revision tables and a long-term appendix. You can adapt the structure and visual style for your own quarterly results presentation.
